Bailing out

It's bail out mania at Washington. If you're some company who cooked the books, made bad calls and generally really f*cked up things and are on the verge of shutting down, come crawling to Washington, they will give you the money you need to survive for years to come. All you have to do is promise to make some changes (it doesn't matter if you follow through.), and the check is in the mail...

Seriously, whatever happened to the free market system? Did it suddenly disappear? I guess it did.

This thing begs the question: Where the hell are we getting all this money to bail these guys out? It's bad enough we have this huge ass deficit going on and this little mess is gonna make it worse. But come on, now...

Most of us are taught only to spend within our means. (Doesn't mean it's happening). Why can't the gov't do that? What does that tell us about the gov't and society in general?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping out if it's needed, but these greedy corporate yahoos don't need help. They need to be a little more responsible for the companies they run.

But I guess it's a case of 'Do as I say and not as I do.'

Thanks for reading!
